Each individual Portuguese Azule tile is handcrafted using traditional methods. This process gives the patterns a distinctive appearance with beautiful color nuances. No two tiles are alike. Laying, impregnating and maintaining Portuguese tiles
The cement tile is hydraulically pressed and not fired. It is therefore open-pored and must be impregnated during and after installation. This must be done carefully to prevent moisture and dirt from penetrating the tile. Once the cement tile is well impregnated, weekly care with green or brown soap (soft soap) or our Azule Tile Soap is sufficient. You will notice: the more time passes, the more beautiful the cement tile floor becomes. This is a very special property of cement tiles, comparable to a parquet floor. Cement tiles are suitable for underfloor heating (follow the manufacturer's instructions).
