Zellige Rose Rouge KitKat
The Zellige Rose Rouge KitKat are handmade tiles arranged in various formats on a mosaic mat, a true work of art! This wall tile comes from one of our factories in Fez, Morocco. The mat measures 30x30 cm, making it easy to install. The surface is smooth yet vibrant, featuring beautiful color nuances. Because each individual tile on the mat is unique, a vibrant overall look is created. Despite the rustic appearance of the tiles, it can be perfectly combined with a modern interior.
Good to know
Zelliges (Arabic: "Zellij") are handmade wall tiles from Morocco. The pure clay washed up from the Atlas Mountains is mixed with only water, then shaped into the required form and dried in the sun. The tiles are then fired in an olive pit kiln and hammered at an angle so that they can be laid with virtually no joints. This labor-intensive process gives the tiles their distinctive appearance and interesting character. Because the pure clay is processed, it contains lime pits that regularly appear on the surface of the tile or in the glaze. This causes small irregularities in the thickness of the tile and on the surface. This is inherent in the product and does not constitute a defect. Zelliges can only be used as wall tiles. For flooring, we recommend our Plattas and Bejmat tiles.
Laying Zelliges
Moroccan tiles require special attention during installation; we have prepared specific installation instructions for this purpose. We recommend that you read them carefully before installing the tiles. Or hire a qualified tiler who is familiar with this type of tile.
Suitable for
Zelliges can be installed both indoors and outdoors. For outdoor use, please ensure that the tiles are under a roof and protected from water and sunlight. If water penetrates the tiles, severe frost can cause cracks in the glaze. Due to their thinness, Zelliges tiles are only suitable for wall use. The surface is irregular and sharp edges are common. Ideal for your hallway, toilet, bathroom, and kitchen. Zelliges are very popular in the hotel and restaurant industry.
Colors and sizes
Zelliges are available in many different colors. Each batch is different. Even the tiles within a box may vary in color and shape. This is due to the production process and does not constitute a defect. Zelliges are formed and cut by hand into various sizes and shapes. In Europe, we mostly find square and rectangular shapes. The most beautiful shapes, which are often made into mosaics, are created in the country of origin. Zelliges can therefore produce designer tiles in almost any shape.
Ordering and delivery
All our tiles are delivered in complete packaging units. If you need help calculating the required quantities, expert advice, or a customized quote, we are happy to help. We are available in one of our showrooms, by email, or by phone. Orders are delivered directly to your home via our carrier. They are securely secured on a pallet, minimizing the risk of breakage. Delivery costs are calculated based on weight, volume, and postal code and are included in the quote as standard. Tiles can also be picked up from our Europe-wide warehouse in Breda. Collection is only possible by prior arrangement. Please note that German and Dutch invoicing differ; payment can only be processed through the German branch. maintenance
Zelliges have a hard top layer and are easy to maintain. Weekly mopping or cleaning with an all-purpose cleaner is recommended. Preferably use an acid-free product that is not too greasy. For heavily soiled surfaces, we recommend using AZULE Dirt Remover. This powerful degreaser will tackle most types of dirt on various tile types.
